Madrones or Madronas are rare trees in the Texas Hill Country, many of them seen at our nature preserve in Pipe Creek, Bandera County. Some call it Indians leg, others the peeling tree because the Madrone cannot grow bigger without growing a new bark every year. Our nature preserve has over 300 madrones showing how nature conservation works and how important it is to live in harmony with nature to prevent global warming and climate change

Junipers or juniper ashei or juniper virginiana are trees or shrubs found in many countries on Earth. It prefers growing on limestone, caliche and its wood and leaves have a ph below 6 - Our Texas nature preserve has thousands of junipers. It needs mature junipers and leaf trees - our nature preserve in Pipe Creek, Bandera County, provides habitat for 6 pairs of the Golden cheeked Warbler who peels little stripes from the bark of the mature juniper to built its nest, and removes insects from oak and cherry trees, showing how important nature conservation is and how important it is to live in harmony with nature to protect endangered species, to protect flora and fauna

we provide guided tours in the southern Texas Hill County, Pipe Creek, Bandera County, through our 124 acre Bear Springs blossom nature preserve with a lot of outdoor fun in the Texas Hills.
